Oh you're so right!
Phoenix is 1 of the worst places to drive in - and yet, this mega-suburb of nothing is so vehicle-dependent.
People drive 90 or 100 m.p.h. on the freeways - and for what reason???? Obviously in a hurry to get nowhere.
The accident-rate is high because of all the speeders and the red-light runners. Then you have the yay-hoos in their oversized trucks who will tailgate you, or even try to run you off the road if you're not driving like a freaking maniac!

Well, you guys could always...ehem...get out of those 'maniac' drivers! Letting a tailgater pass you is probably the best way to handle the situation, (if at all possible).

I have my car insurance with Wawanesa Insurance out of San Diego CA. Best price on car insurance I was able to find, also very good service. I had 2 accidents (1 minor and 1 major, major one I was not at fault) and 1 speeding tickets in 6+ years I have been with them
and my rate never went up for any of the above, every year my rate was even lowered a bit. My motorcycle insruance is thru Geico since Wawanesa didn't offer that kinda of insurance. I am happy with Geico's rates and service so far.

but did you know that Geico checks your credit rating every 6 months? the more hits you have on your credit rating, the lower your score goes. I was told that, called them and they told me yes they do. So I steered clear of them.

Oh my car was just totaled 2 weeks ago from someone running a red light on Frank Lloyd Wright BLVD. The guy then proceeds to take off only to be caught. Driving on a restricted license, plates registered in another state. This jerk could have cared less if he had killed me.

A bit off topic but FYI, there are 2 types of credit check; surface scan type and detailed report type. Without the consent of the consumer they can only do the first one which does not ding your credit rating. All creditors you have an account with or otherwise can and will do that, hence pre-qual offers people get in the mail. I will check with them to find out more but I doubt they are doing the detailed reporting, if so they should clearly inform the consumer and note it on their contract which I failed to notice.

I have been with State Farm for twenty years and am very pleased. I got quotes from Geico and Progressive and they both wanted to save me money by cutting everything, reducing the benefits. When I said that I could do that at my present agent they both said that I would pay several hundred $ more per six months than State Farm. They advertize A LOT but are they cheaper?...NO! State Farm gives you safe driver rates, two car discounts, multi-line discounts if you have your house insured with them, longevity rates, etc.
