We are looking at a rental off of 16th street & Thomas ( 16th Street & Cambridge Ave to be exact) right next to an office complex on the corner.

I've lived in Arizona all my life but I've never lived in this area. I work near by but I'm not familiar with the living situation. Does anyone have any information they can give on what this area may be like? I can and will be looking up the crime report but I want some first had experience if possible.

We driven through and there are some abandoned places, some not so cute home, ect...

Thanks in advance

Traffic.. lots of traffic. Nothing near by beyond bars. Noise.. lots of noise. Between police helicopters, traffic, and retarded bikers with loud pipes, i love sleeping next to the street. If you are renting an apartment i would recommend checking out apartment rating or something like that, it will give you a good idea what to look forward to.

Though... between 7th st and central is very quiet, which is strange.

Northwest is the Phoenix Country Club, an unincorporated area that is an island paradise surrounded by North High on the south, ratty neighborhoods to the east and even worse to the south where many business signs are in Spanish.

Not the best area. Do you need that location for work or cost?

Now for weird: the streets just W of 24th St north of Thomas are pretty decent.

Word has it that area is cleaning up.

Although in all fairness; 24th/Camelback (less than 2 miles north) is quite chic.

Side note: I lived by 12th St/Indian School back in 1997-99 and never had a problem.

As for the Spanish signage: that is fading out with the waves of illegals being forced out.

Hell; I have had more issues here in S Scottsdale.

It's the same cost as my current apartment but this one has been remolded w/ new kitchen appliances and has a dishwasher, washer and dryer which i don't currently have. It's also very close to my job.

Not a good area- I work at Phoenix Children's at 19th and Thomas. There have been a few shootings at the Burger king at the corner. Lots of stolen cars/car break ins at our place (in our secure garages).
