With the new federal tax in effect, I need to be a little more vigilant about denying the fed. gov't. my money. Are smokes cheaper on Indian reservations, and if so, where? Is Salt River the closest place to get them in Phoenix? I usually buy online overseas, but that takes a while for delivery.

I was at Hayden and McKellips the other day, at one of the reservation stores, and got some for my friend at 5.30 a pack, cartons are about 49.00. The price varies a little with the brand, but you do avoid all those taxes.

I don't know what they do price wise at the various casinos, haven't been in them. There's a billboard for a cigarette store just off the 10, south of the 202, I assume near the casino there.

The reservation is the way to go.

a bit off-topic.
I buy Swedish snus (not all deliver to AZ)that (http://www.northerner.com/%29that - broken link) I also order overseas (never thought about ordering cigs before I quit). Anyways, It helped me quit cigarettes for a cheaper/healthier alternative. There is a cigar store by the Scottsdale airport that sells one brand (3 or 4 fllavors) if you want to try it out, even though they overcharge for it.

Is this store easy to find, right at that corner?

There's a place off of Hayden or Mclintock, Called On rok mor, or at least that's how it is pronounced.
They are a gas station on a reservation. The smoke are pretty fairly priced. But I figure if you don't live somewhat close or work nearby, its not worth the savings in gas, unless you make a monthly trip out there and buy a bunch.

That's the place I'm referring to, On-Auk-Mor, it's at Hayden and McKellips. I see a lot of people in there buying multiple cartons, so I think that's what people do who don't live in or drive through that area on a regular basis. It's right off the 101, McKellips exit, go west on McKellips, it's on the southeast corner at the next light.
