Default acreage lot in Rio Verde OR Hillside lot on South Mountain??

so we've basically narrowed our search down to 2 areas.. which one would you recommend?

option one: hillside lot in gated community with city and mountian views south of Dobbins basically up against South Mountain.

option two: acreage lot in Rio Verde. a litttle further out, but in the more prestigious scottsdale zip code.

both houses are roughly the same size and running us the same amount. we like option 1 because its a hilly area with great views. option 2 gives us more room, but is further out and accessible by dirt roads.

thanks in advance.

Well, I'm sure you'll get differing views, but here is mine.

The ne valley has the best views (imho). The real estate values have fallen off less in the farf north east valley. Check it out, not just my opinion.

I like the Rio Verde area. I love the horse ranches out there and I also like the retirement area to the east.

These areas are surrounded by extremely upscale areas. I doubt they will falter badly. I can't say the same about the S. Mtn area. Who knows? Perhaps I'm wrong.

Good luck, I think you are buying at a great time.

Definitely Rio Verde area. It is much nicer of an area and more prestigious than S. Mtn area. It has the North Scottsdale name, so the value will always hold.
