Default Japanese Friendship Garden!

I'm wondering if anybody knows this exists.

It's in Downtown Phoenix at the Deck Park - pretty impressive quiet oasis in the middle of the City.

QuirkyBound is on a distinguished road
My wife and I went there a few months ago. We were a bit disappointed in the $6 per person entry fee given all the amazing free hiking right around Phoenix.

But, I do agree, it was a nice little quiet oasis and would make for a nice little picnic setting. Some pretty impressive Koi in the ponds too.

The real name for it is Margaret T. Hance Park, which is situated in a strip between Central and 3rd Avenues, south of McDowell and north of Roosevelt ... located just north of downtown. It's nicknamed the Deck Park because it sits on top of the I10 freeway tunnel below.

I'm aware of the fact that a Japanese garden is there, but I doubt if many other people are familiar with it ... especially the newcomers. It's ironic that a thread was started about this because it was actually featured on the "Arizona Highways" TV show last weekend as part of the light rail & downtown Phoenix episode.

That looks impressive. Do they have a tea house on the grounds, as well?

It seems to me I heard that that was and is part of the plan, but funds are not yet available for it.

Let me get this straight...this place costs $6 to visit? It's not a lot of money, but that may be why a place that gorgeous isn't visited that often when Camelback, Saguaro Ranch, Scotsdale's Greenbelt, A Mountain and Thunderbird Paseo make for some stunning city outdoors activity.

Yep, it's gated and there is a ticket booth at the entrance.

I've never been inside, but I've been wanting to, especially before it gets too hot.
