Looking for good Indian places
Hello. Any suggestions in the Scottsdale and surrounding areas? Good veggie selections on the buffet. How about Thai? Thanks.

Tandoori Times in Old Town Scottsdale is good but its not really veggie restaurant since its Punjabi/Pakastani and they have a lot of grilled items. The Dhaba and Royal Taj in Tempe are both good. For Thai, I like Thai Rama and Mali's in Old Town (not the one in Desert Ridge)

Tandoori Times has closed its Old Town location and has moved up to the area near the Scottsdale Airpark. Likewise, Malee's has closed it Desert Ridge location.

azriverfan has good recommendations. I like Malee's, Thai Rama, Royal Taj, and the Dhaba.
I think the absolute best Thai food, however, is often found on the west side at places like Siam in Glendale.

Well that shows you how much I eat at those places. He said Scottsdale area so I did my best. My favorite Indian restaurant in the entire valley is Guru Palace. It's off Gilbert Rd and the 60. My favorite Thai place in the entire valley is Touch of Thai on 35th and Bell. I know everyone has an opinion regarding Thai food so I won't get there, but I promise that if anyone eats at Guru Palace, they will agree with me that it' the best Indian food in Phoenix. I haven't taken one person there who hasn't agreed with me. It's the real deal. It's new so most people haven't heard of it

Yum. Making me hungry, my friend. I'll have to give Guru Palace a try!
LOVE Malee's. Food is great, and it's fun walking it off around Old Town Scottsdale. The Desert Ridge one was lovely. . . sorry it didn't work.

Let me know what you think about Guru Palace. Technically, it's in Mesa because its at the Mesa/Gilbert border but it's in a strip mall accross from a small Wells Fargo bank. The area is nice and safe, nothing to worry about. The restaurant itself is also very nice. It has nice high ceilings and plenty of space. It's not claustrophobic like most Indian restaurants. They even have a place where you can sit on the floor and eat.

I've been hearing lots of good things about Guru Palace. I don't get out that way much, but I'll have to try it sometime.
