Wake up and face reality: You're screwed. There's NOTHING to do in this forsaken desert wasteland, except go out to eat at a restaurant, and shop. That's it. This is what everyone here does. I grew up here, and I remember it, with great remorse. Let's go out to eat! Oh, now let's go to the mall!!! It's a nightmare that you can't wake up from. I moved to California shortly after graduation but recently decided that it's too expensive there. But at least there's plenty to do in California!

And actually there's a lot to do almost anywhere you would end up living, but in Arizona all you can do is sweat and suck cactus.

Four months of the year it's hotter than the Sahara. The other eight months you'll have to go far away to find something to do that doesn't involve eating at a restaurant or shopping.

If you want to be happy here, it's probably best to learn to appreciate Phoenix on its own terms without excessive comparison to your place of origin
I agree with this!
