Yes, Palo Verde's are beautiful and I'm glad to hear that probably isn't my allergy issue. I do know I have an elm issue, maybe there are some western elms hiding around here. lol achew!

I'm not going to miss the spring storms in North Texas once we move to AZ in June.
They didn't bother me so much in the past year, but having my wife and daughter sitting in the bathtub because of a tornado warning have changed my mind. We had a tornado touch down less than 5 miles from here last year and one the year before than no more than 10 miles away.

Does everyone blast the air conditioner all day? I'm actually worried about freezing at work. I hate that!

I hate that too. What a waste of money.
We keep our thermostat at 78 at home. That, and some ceiling fans, make it feel cool enough, especially when you come in from the heat outside.

But can you handle the fire season and Santa Ana winds? Santa Barb is burning right now. Hubby and I have long thought of moving to San Diego but it just has too many natural disasters like fire and quakes. We've thought long and hard about northern Arizona but he drives trucks and there isn't much work. Then we thought about Scottsdale but we just aren't sure we could take the summer heat. He was born in Boulder, CO and he bugs me to go there but I don't know if I'd be able to take the snow in the winter. And we hate the Seattle area because it is just so dark and gloomy all fall, winter and spring. Hummmm, so where is Paradise? I feel for the poor poster on this thread saying they are moving here to Federal Way... Most of Federal Way is ghetto with very high drug use and crime, sorry to say. Think Bellevue, Kirkland, or Issaquah if you come here.

I want my house to be 77 or below. I don't care about the bill, Its more painfull being hot all the time than paying the high bill. Still, even when Im not carefull, its only 200 dollars or less. The benifit of a small 1100 square foot place in AZ is less room to cool down.

Well, when I say San Diego, I mean San Diego near the beach. That is, of course, if money were no object!
And, for what it's worth, I'm told the winters in the Denver/Boulder area are pretty mild compared to other places in the country. I bet the summers are great.
