Anyone else notice a huge jump in your Sewage/Waste fees? (home, heat pump)

I covered my pool this year, and reduced my water usage over last year(from 27,676 to 19,448 gal), but my total bill was 162.56 compared to 164.52, due to increased Sewage fees, so I only saved $2 by using 8,000 less gallons water. Same thing happened with my new energy efficient heat pump, my APS bill stayed about the same although my electric usage was greatly lowered. This is how Arizona rewards someone who tries to conserve energy and water.

Yes, Arizona is the only state in the union where utility costs have gone up.

Especially with all the hype about us running out of water in 20 years, and the dependency on fossil fuel, that they would be rewarding us for cutting usage of water and electricity. I wish I could use SRP instead of APS; nothing I can do about the water - that's all Jan Brewer's brainy idea.

You are being rewarded. If you didn't save the costs would be even higher. And SRP has been raising rates as fast or faster than APS which has to go through the (rubber stamp) Corporation Commission.

SRP rates are still lower than APS. There is no 'reward' when I significantly cut my home electricity usage by buying a 15 SEER heat pump, only to pay the same electric bill. It isn't a 'reward' when I significantly cut my home water usage, only to end up paying the same for the water bill. There is no 'reward', but I did manage to negate the increased 'penalty' for the use of those commodities.

Your reward was saving 70ish bucks on water if you hadn't lowered ur usage with the price increase.
