I wanted to thank MicheleVanDetti for offering her services. I already have a realtor down there. They sold our house as the markt went south and really did a great job so I would have to go with them. But, hey if I didn't know anyone I would have taken you up on your help. Thanks again!!!!!

If you don't mind what was that school? Also, thanks for the tip on Higley Groves. I want to be in the Gilbert school district.

Actually it's far from being up and running. They're projecting an opening in late 2007. Whether they hit that goal or not remains to be seen. I believe the movie theater may be open now - I saw a sign for Movie Parking the other day. But if you've driven by recently, you'd see that many portions of the mall are still at the framing stage, though some are further along. I imagine they'll open it in stages.

santanvillage.com is the website for the mall on Greenfield and Williams Field. It's going to be a fabulous mall.

Another developer is building a similar mall on San Tan Village and the 202, which is quite close to the San Tan Village mall, for anyone who's not familiar with the area. They already have a Costco, Super Walmart shopping center, many high end furniture stores, etc. in the shopping center. That mall construction is quite behind San Tan Village mall - the developer only recently finalized funding and broke ground. They'd planned on a late '07 opening, but I don't see how they can meet that goal. They're still digging for the foundation right now.

Spectrum at Val Vista has an elementary school within the subdivision. I've heard it's an excellent school - the principal is great and there are many great teachers, and Spectrum is a reallly family friendly s/d...tons of kids and great location.

Power Ranch has an elementary school - also a very family friendly s/d.

Seville Golf and Country Club subdivision is building Riggs Elementary, opening this fall. The principal they hired is excellent and she's bringing many of her old faculty with her. Payne Middle School and Basha High School are nearby and get good reviews. Riggs Elem is within Chandler Unified School District.

Overall, Gilbert has good schools - check greatschools.net for ratings.

You really can't go wrong anywhere in Gilbert. I'd start with where you'll be commuting to, and go from there.

Thanks for the info Boatdrinks. My husband will be commuting to the Biltmore(If we do move). We used to live on Greenfield and Ray, or now Williamsfield. We loved the area, and I really miss it. So we know it will be a big commute but he used to work on central in the middle of downtown before. Hubby leaves @ 5 ish and gets home anywhere between 6-8 depending on his clients.

Anyone know about the subdivision Vincenz ( williamsfiels and 202) or Pecan groves right next to higley groves??? both are new.

Thanks again!

In Vincenz check out that Standard Pacific model the 5508, that's the one I could have bought for 280,000 in 2003 it's up around 500,000 now but was selling for 600,000 in 2004. Higley Groves is nice. Stay away from Ashton Woods at Highland Groves. Pecan Groves? I can't remember that one.

[quote=wamommy1;543819] I heard Gilbert and Highland High are good too. What about Higley or the new one Williams Field? I know High School is far away but I plan on staying in my house along time.

QUOTE]

We just moved here from Utah, and my son was still in high school, so it was a big concern for us. We flew out to AZ specifically to interview schools. After interviewing five schools (Highland, Mesquite, Higley, just to name a few), we felt the best about Higley. It's the smallest high school out of the group that we interviewed, and the housing boundaries for the schools are nice. They include Power Ranch and Cortina.

Oh I am thinking about the high schools now. I don't ever want to move until I retire!!!! I had a friend who lived in Power Ranch and loved it. That's a little too far for us. I think the furthest out we could live would be where we used to, that area anyway.

Sheena...... what can you tell me about Ashton Woods?
