I already know that the heat going to be negitive, but owning an affordable house is a positive.
What areas should i request to see on this tour to get the zest of it. The trip is for two days only and I want to make the most of it.
Thanks in advance!

I assume the JOB is in Chandler. Overall it's a good city. For a nearby family oriented city with good schools, I recommend Gilbert. There are a lot of comments and information in this forum about the town. Just do a search. We had a home on the north side of Gilbert near Freestone Park for four years. Most of the growth is down south now. We now live in east Mesa so my wife doesn't have to commute as far to work in AJ, but if that wasn't an issue, I'd move back in a heartbeat.
The heat will be the biggest adjustment for you. It seems most people who've moved here in the last twenty or so years complain about it. Maybe it's because my generation didn't grow up with computers, but as kids we were outside year-round. We drank water out of the garden hose in the summer when we got thirsty and never thought about the heat. Personally, I still love it.
Our freeway system has come a long way. It's bumper to bumper during rush, but even at it's worst (during the winter = snowbird season), it's a walk in the park compared to trying to get from I-10 to I-210 via 57. (How many people
REALLY live in San Dimas and Glendora???) There is one very good radio station for traffic reports (KTAR), but if you've come to rely on "Sigalerts", ...sorry

.
FYI, I've lived in the east valley since 1962 for all but a few years during the 70's. I know a little about LA and Santa Cruz because I had family and friends there. (I was proud of being the only kid in my Scottsdale neighborhood who knew how to surf

).
