Okay, well, here's something for a change: I won't be sarcastic.

I hate the fact that summer nights in the Phoenix area don't cool down like they do in other deserts like in the Sahara (Which could be 110 in the afternoon and freezing at night)

I hate the fact that the airconditioner needs to be running from May through October; none-stop from June-August

I hate the fact that winters in Phoenix are WARM. There is no cold, snowy, slushy, brown snow on the sidewalk WINTER to help you appreciate the brute summers they get out there.

I hate the fact that people in Phoenix talk about their humidity being low, because even when the humidity is 30% when it's 105, the dewpoint will be in the 60s, and BABY THAT'S SOME HUMIDITY RIGHT THERE!

Lol, welcome to Az!
I used to live in Phx and must agree that it does get pretty warm. But Im more of the 'small town' type of girl and living in Casa Grande has its ups and downs too, though because ther really isnt much to do here exept maybe a couple of redneck bars.
Phx though, is changing pretty fast, like anywhere else. I have a friend that lives not far from the airport and the city is trying to buy out their property for....'progress'! Many people in that neighbourhood have been trying to fight it but are only losing.

More on this...

I hate the fact that several lakes and nature trails around here are flooded with trash, beer cans, plastic bottles, diapers, etc. I don't understand why people around here do not value and protect these beautiful sceneries.

Don't go to tourist spots. There are lots of pristine spots that only people who love nature go to because they're not advertised. Just like anywhere, highly advertised tourist spots=trash

It gets quite cool at night in the summer, if you're not in an area that's packed with concrete and asphalt.

If you live here longer than a year, your blood thins and you don't need A/C as much. Also, I can go a whole winter without heat if I want.

We've had a few flurries, even in Phoenix, and we only have to drive an hour to get snow. As far as what you mean by warm winters, that's subjective. I'm used to the heat. So on those freezing days we have every winter, I get pretty cold. Yes, I do have to scrape my windshield on occasion, even in Phoenix.

Now, that I agree with. It gets miserably humid in July and August with the monsoon season. Though, the beautiful electrical storms and warm downpours make up for it.

I sent you a pm for the list of non-tourist spots. Thanks.

What do you mean? My area has lots of 1 acre lots, whereas, my parents live in south Scottsdale, which is all packed together and has lots of asphalt and concrete. It gets a lot cooler at night in the summer in my area than theirs. Is this what you mean?

Yeah.

I guess you have to build in the middle of nowhere to feel cool on a summer night.

After hearing all the terrible things this forum's members has said about AZ, I can't wait to come there and hate the heck out of it. When I finish law school, I want to leave cold, rainy, windy, depressing Ohio (which I love by the way) for a warmer climate that I'll no doubt hate. Although I've loved the years of chronic sinus infections due to allergies, and vitamin D deficiencies because the sun rarely peeks out behind rain pregnant clouds, I will hate the low humidity weather, mountains, lots of sunshine and bountiful culture. I will love the school system in beautiful Columbus, Ohio. I also love that the school day was decreased to four and a half hours (minus lunch and recess) because the city government couldn't keep their paws out of the pot, now the budget is on "overhaul". I love that Ohioans complain about immigrants, but are happy to watch them build houses, repair roads, and perform all other unpleasant tasks Americans don't want to do. I also love that Ohio's government officials just can't seem to keep their noses clean. I'm sure people all over the country read about the Bureau of Worker's Compensation scandal. Ugh. I can't wait to hate Arizona.
