At least, while you are alive, you can still choose where you want to go!

hystericat is on a distinguished road
I moved out here @ CAVE CREEK back in July '97. I hated it then, there was nothing, i mean NOTHING. The closest thing to enjoy was Cracker Jax in Scottsdale and the PV MALL in Phx. Those were just the closest, around a 20 minute drive. It might of been faster then, because there weren't as much triffic lights and traffic. I hated it then and still do, i hate its the practices that people do, i mean, "WHAT GOES THROUGH PEOPLES' MINDS??" There is times i ask myself that question, when i see people do the most dumbest things and wonder why this state is going in the crapper. Look who is in control and look who is controlling those strings.
So i started my own web marketing at home, because i am tried of going out there and dealing with those people. This made me like AZ a little better, but unfortunately AZ has a way with their laws and debts that makes it impossible for you to leave unless you declare bankruptcy. So i am not going to let them win. Check out my website @

Most people move to towns like Cave Creek because it's isolated from the city, not to be close to it.

And, Arizona government and laws are 100% better than they were 10 years ago, thanks to better people elected into office. (less corruption, more care of what the people want). Considering the drastic change, I wouldn't diss AZ laws until it's been more than 10 years because things don't change overnight. At least now, school trust lands can't be sold at whim for a quick buck, and the legislators actually think twice about selling big chunks of land to developers (for example, the area between the east valley and Globe). Yeah, people who move here might think a snapshot sucks, but believe me, AZ government has been progressively becoming less corrupt and more ethical.

Artliquide is absolutely right.
I'm sick of the 'everyone from Scottsdale is a snob', and 'it's ALWAYS been snobbish'. Do you simply enjoy posting lies or are you really that clueless? I grew up in Scottsdale:Granite Reef and McDowell area beginning in late June, 1962. The city didn't go much north of Camelback. My Dad retired from the U.S. Army two years later (enlisted) and my Mom worked in a factory in south Phoenix. They earned about $600 bucks a month between them before taxes. They bought the house for $18k and only qualified because they had saved for years for a down payment. TRANSLATION: We were a middle class family, with lower middle class income, living in a middle class neighborhood. If there were any snobs around, they were in town from back east.

Question: If people living in north Scottsdale today ARE snobs, do you have to interact with them on a daily basis? If not, why are you constantly complaining about them? And for the "Ewww, it's to hot to go outside; Waah, there's nothing to do here; OMG, if the sunlight hits my body I'll die of skin cancer; OMG if I breathe the air I'll die of emphysema...," News Flash:This is the desert. It gets hot. If you worry about the perceived health risks, then stay inside and breathe filtered air if you think it will help. Sooner or later though, something is going to kill you, no matter where you live or what you do. You be a lot happier if you'd try just living your life instead of pissing and moaning about everyone else's. I have a feeling that the number of snobs in the entire valley are outnumbered by wimps and whiners at least 20 to 1.

A BEAVER???!!!! . No, but I beat them every time I pitched against them! It angered a lot of people when they tore it down, me included. I dated a girl from SHS also. God, I miss Janet; probably should of married her. In fact I met her at Frontier Bowling Alley on Thomas east of Scottsdale Road... I'm sorry what was the question? Oh yea, Coronado, 1973. Before that, Hohokam Elementary at Oak and Granite Reef. Saguaro HS was waaay up north. In '73 Pima Road turned to dirt less than 1/2 mile north of Shea Blvd. and literally was nothing more than a footpath from there to Pinnacle Peak.

Ask your Mom if she remembers Mr. Travis; He was my grade school PE teacher until '66 or '67, then went to Scottsdale High and coached their Freshman baseball team.
