Smile Here is my list of why I hate Phoenix

1) The heat

2) The air quality

3) The Schools (below national average)

4) Lack of culture

5) Illegal Immigration

6) Crime (very high)

7) Traffic (they are way behind on transportation)

8) Lack of 4 seasons ( can't take your kids to the woods, find a pond and catch frogs) that kind of stuff.

9) Lack of wild life (unless you consider stray dogs wild)

10) Lack of vegitation (green grass, trees, etc)

11) Hard Water

12) car accidents

Texas has all of the above. Plus you will see very high property taxes. You know, everything is really bigger in TX. LOL

I'd imagine none of the above can be experienced in Houston.

Not to mention that Houston consistently ranks far worse in air quality than Phoenix.

The ideal 4 seasons in US doesn't exist, it is always extreme in one way or another so give up on hating an area simply because it lacks the 4-season. Imho, the 2-3 season States are overall more liveable than so-called 4-season States.

As far as 'catching frogs' goes, I can easily catch a frog, not at a pond but late night at a nightclub around town!

LOL I love this thread, it's good to see that not all people take PHX/AZ for granted.. it may not be perfect, but then there is no perfect place to live! I love AZ and can't wait to go back for some hatin'!

Well: some of us (including myself); have no use for '4 season' weather.

I am originally from the Wash DC area and the winters alone impelled me to leave there 30 years ago.......and, I have yet to return even for a visit.

In fact: it has been colder than usual here since the end of November and I am not amused, shall we say.

I'm a product of our "below national average" education system here in the Phoenix area, and I, at least, now how to spell "vegetation" correctly. What does that say about the Texas (or wherever you originate from) education system? (I'm not usually a grammar nazi, but I do defend against the notion that we are undereducated here, especially when the attacker doesn't practice what he/she preaches).

Oh, and we have lots of frogs in my neighborhood that come out when it rains (which is happening right now), and plenty of wildlife. I will also keep my dry heat over nasty summer humidity that Houston apparently has, according to this thread: Humidity

Apparently traffic and pollution seem to be an issue in Houston as well. What's your beef with Phx anyway (since you're not even here)?

Come on, typos happen on these forums. So if you're going to correct spelling, spell correctly yourself. Sounds like my Michigan education beats Arizona AND Texas.

I have to do this. It's "know" not now. Sorry, but I am not a good speller myself and I tend to have an above average amount of typos, so I thought I'd point yours out. I'm assuming yours is a typo too. Just messing with ya. However, the schools "back in the day" were much better than what they are now. Our school systems in Phoenix and it's suburbs today are horrifically underfunded.

And the frog thing - where in PHOENIX have you seen a frog?????? Up north perhaps, but I've yet to see one with my own two eyes since moving here too many years ago.
Then again, I think the whole scorpian, spider and snake thing is completely overblown here too. Sure they are around, but it's not like you have to watch where you're walking all the time.
