I hate the malls....boy, do I hate the malls. Why do they insist on providing us with so much darn shopping???? (ok, so maybe my bank account thinks I should hate the malls for real )

I'm really sick of the nice, friendly people. I miss living back in DC where people obsess over their jobs, the first question out of their mouths when you meet them is "So, where do you work?" (read: "So, what can you do for me, who can you introduce me to, how can you help me get ahead?")

HATE the traffic!!! Yes, back in DC and Boston it took us 20 minutes to go 5 miles, but so what! Traffic is terrible here too! (yes, I know it is bad, and I know people get mad when we say it's not as bad as x-city, but to me, it's not that bad).

Crime - don't get me started on the crime....I imagine one or two of the "crime stat poll" fans will chime in here with their opinions, formed soley after just reading a few different things on the internet and never having lived here at all. But apparently, according to them, Phoenix is pretty much the crime capital of the country. Yikes!!

Oh, and scorpians - they're EVERYWHERE!! Wait - there are 3 running across my computer right now! Ack!!!

I like how people say on here they are basking in the sun while other places have rain and snow, but those same places are saying the same thing when summer rolls around in Phoenix. When your enjoying 115 degrees sweating with your boxers sticking to who knows what smelling like sweat, the other states are enjoying 80 degrees. And you people enjoy the shopping so much because thats all you know, smaller cities have alot more. You guys are funny,Im from a smaller city but Phoenix just dosent seem like a real city, now Denver is alot smaller but much more the city, maybe Phoenix can learn from Denver or Dallas.

Not too many cities enjoy 80 degrees every day in the summer. The ones that do are "enjoying" 6 or 7 months of winter temperatures, and the rest, in CA, aren't close to being affordable.

And I beg to differ with your assertion that all I know is shopping. I'm also quite knowledgable about getting pedicures and botox and sitting around eating Bon Bons and drinking Apple-tini's all day

I live in Maryland and I'm not so sure our summers are that much more tolerable than Phoenix. The humidity is very oppressive and the mosquitos, gnats, etc, make it hard to enjoy the outdoors as much as one might think. At least the sweat evaporates from your skin in AZ. Here in MD it just beads up and runs all down your legs, back, etc. Don't get me wrong, I still go outside quite often to run, play basketball, etc., but there are times that I wonder if I might die.

Oh yes I almost forgot about how much I hate the heat in Phoenix, 110 with low humidity really sucks! I just love the summers back East when its 95 and 100% humidity cause I love that I can take a shower in the morning and remain wet all day long. I love the feeling of the air suffocating me and I just love all those bugs the humidity brings out. I just hate how a mister or a fan will cool you off in Phoenix, it sucks!! Cause I just hate evaporation, evaporation sucks!! I love how I have swamp ass all day long when i visit New York, New Orleans, Miami or Houston in the summer. Phoenix sucks cause you dry off so fast that you don't get to experience the true joys of swamp ass all day. Damn, why do I live here again? this place really sucks!!

I really hate being able to plan any outdoor events, months in advance, and not being able to worry about having a back-up plan in case it rains or snows.

Cj81: oh yeah I almost forgot how much I hate the perfect 95 degree summer days with low humidity and the cool summer nights here in Albuquerque and I hate that we have more outdoor activities than Phoenix.

Oh, another thing about Phoenix and Scottsdale... there's hardly any shopping here... I mean, look at our selection... oh, let's see... Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach, Barney's New York, Robb & Stucky, Ralph Lauren, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, St. John, Louis Vuitton, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Apple, Gucci, Optical Shop of Aspen, Escada, MAC, Origins, Stuart Weitzman...

And we are clogged with resorts that are taking up too much space... The Phoenician... The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess... The Hyatt Gainey Ranch... Camelback Inn... The Ritz-Carlton...

LOL, you live in Albuquerque!?!?!?!? LMAO, it all makes sense now!! LOL ahhhh good times! Thank you so much for that councilor j, you just made my day. Please carry on, this conversation is over now. Maybe you should go stir up some trouble in your own league, like the Tucson forum or the Palm Springs forum.
