I don't mean to rehash an old thread but since people have been posting it I thought I'd share my feelings.

If you hate Phoenix so much - why don't you leave? I can't wait to get there! I visit every year (yes even in the worst of summer) and I adore it. The people are MUCH happier than the people in the cold, rainy, snowy, overcast Northeast.

For someone who loves the outdoors (I do) there is TONS of gorgeous hiking. Sedona alone is reason enough to move to AZ. I have a horse and there are tons of places to ride and I'll be able to ride almost 7 months out of the year!

The humidity in the Northeast (PA) is so disgusting that we stay inside for 3 months, then you have at least 3 months of cold, snow and ice.

Gee - can't imagine why I'd want to move to a place with sun 325 days a year. My sister-in-law has lived in Phoenix (Peoria) for 10 years and has never been robbed or experienced ANY crime, has never been bitten by a snake or scorpion. Plus she lives in a wonderful neighborhood with nice people whose kids play together every night in the cul-de-sac, they have pool parties and watch out for each other.

I just don't know where some of you are coming from.

Substitute Wash DC for Pa and you are speaking to the choir.

Needless to say: I do not go to the DC/NoVa boards slamming those folks who prefer living in that area.

Get some personality, I know you are very very very good people, but please for the love of God (oops) go have some fun!!!! No wonder you have to take so many anti depressants...tell me this, how is it that you can't consume Sodas but its ok to take pills???? Alright sorry if I offended anyone...or everyone in the town of Gilbert. But this is why I don't live there anymore

For whatever it is worth; I am 'more at home' in central Phoenix vs. most of the outlying areas.

Gilbert too leaves me cold.

Red face Moving To Phoenix

My husband and I are moving to Phoenix in a few weeks from Tampa,Fl. We hate Fl. It's to humid here and all the snow birds here will drive you crazy. The people from Canada and New York think that they are so much better. We have lived all over the world and the only place that we have lived that was worse was Chicago. I love it out west, we lived in Las Vegas and believe it or not the crime in Tampa is worse.More than one person a day is murdered here. I can't wait to leave. There is no place on this earth that is perfect, but we keep looking.

We've got our share of snowbirds too, Betty. But the temps are creeping up on 100 and their final unofficial "GO HOME!" date of April 15th is almost here. Every year a few unfortunate souls stay too long and succumb to the heat. Usually they're found in their cars in restaurant or mall parking lots, melted into an almost unrecognizable gooey blob behind the wheel. Very sad. So be careful after you get here if you see a parked car with IL, MI, or AB Canada etc, plates in the summertime.
NOT a pretty sight!

Wink Hello to my fellow Arizona H8ERZ!

Ok, I read the first few post and I decided to give you my reasons I hate Arizona so much that I am moving there in 3 weeks .
I hate driving through the desert during awesome thunder storms. I hate that I feel like a movie star swimming at 10pm in the beautiful pool at our favorite hotel in Scottsdale, under an amazing star filled night.
I hate the gorgeous desert landscapes God created (you know Him showing off all the time).
I hate the ridiculously low home prices compared to So. Cali where I live now and that I can buy a new, huge house for 1/5 of the price it would cost in Cali. Not to mention how much I hate that my mortgage will be about the same as I pay for rent on our small 2 bedroom apartment now in Cali.!!
I hate the clean neighborhoods, the new parks for my kids, the freedom I have to homeschool my children with nearly no government involvement unlike other states, the friendly neighbors, the lower gas prices, the clear blue skies, that my MIL won't have arthritis pain anymore when she moves with us, the Grand Canyon and how my jaw is still on the floor since the first time I saw it....there is so much to hate I cannot list it all!
Most of all I hate how many of my California friends told me they are green with envy that I am moving to Arizona and that they cannot move there too (actually I have a couple of friends who did decide to move after I told them we were moving...I hate that...).
I hate Arizona so much that I WISH I were there already!!!

I get it. You're saying you hate all these things, but you actually like them. That's pretty clever and I've never seen that method used before.
