It seems the complainers on the PHX board are the type who expect a city to entertain them. Nothing to do? I barely have time to do half of what I'd like to do - but maybe it's because I design my life rather than await for things to happen. If you have any hobbies, interests or passions, you'll find like minded people here. If not, create your own movement. But to sit back and whine that it's not like some other place at some other time is more a reflection of laziness than anything. If you care to refute this, then share with as an activity you can't seem to find an outlet to explore.

I've already said that, FOR ME, there is little of interest to do here. The one thing I've noticed about these Phoenix threads (and I've been here for two years in this forum) is that the negatives are really not what people want to hear, hence my suggestion this thread be renamed. With all due respect, you don't live here, so you may not be in the best position to comment with respect to what there is or there is not to do. I don't mean to be contentious, but it's a trend I see in these threads. Praise the virtues of Phoenix or be quiet. Now I shouldn't be quite surprised but what someone finds a reason to ban me from this board for expressing my opinions in a thread, which doesn't even have the right name, to start with. |

Oh, why bother to even respond further. There are places that a person just does not fundamentally like. This thread is a call to express these thoughts. As is turns out, these thoughts are not welcome. |

I've seen alot of CONSTRUCTIVE negativity about Phoenix on this board, TONS! What you're doing is a whole different thing.. You're whining more or less that Phoenix doesn't suit YOU all the while bashing because it doesn't meet your personal expectations... You want to talk about people in Phoenix acting above other people? Maybe it's rubbing of on you, because I don't need to currently reside in Phoenix to know enough about the place to build a valid opinion. Good luck in whatever you do, but I'm not letting you off the hook there. |

First of all, She's right. This is the I Hate Phoenix thread and therefore should be allowed to express her opinion.
Look, there are things I love about this place and things I dislike. I think many of us have things we dislike or love about many places! It is unfair to jump on someone who is expressing their opinion in the correct thread. I'm sorry if you're feelings have been hurt, you have done nothing wrong. You have replied on the correct thread and are allowed to express your feelings. ![]() |

How bad is Arizona public education? comparing to other States?
Does anyone in your area sleep with the windows open? Moving to Phoenix - No Car Best and Worst School districts in greater Phoenix Area How bad are the insects in Phoenix? *Dust in the Wind* Laveen - What are your thoughts? uneasy in gilbert Do you want more? I see plenty of educational and constructive topics and posts.. even in this thread. What you're doing is whining. I still fail to see your argument based on actually living there.. I've been there enough to understand the people, the traffic, the crime, the HEAT, the Sprawl, and so on. Keep riding that high horse you're on. Phoenix is 100% for you, or it's 100% not for you from my experience... no in between. If you can't deal with the lack of greenspace, the population, the climate, and general things to do.. why are you there in the first place? It's pretty cut and dry as to what Phoenix has to offer somebody. In respect of the Moderators here, I'll let you go.. Good luck in your quest for ultimate serenity! |
