8) Lack of 4 seasons ( can't take your kids to the woods, find a pond and catch frogs) that kind of stuff.

9) Lack of wild life (unless you consider stray dogs wild)

10) Lack of vegitation (green grass, trees, etc)

11) Hard Water

12) car accidents
Some things on your list just annoy me like

7)Traffic is NOT bad at all compared to other cities. How are they way behind on transportation? If you mean public transportation thats another story...

8) there are plenty of lakes and rivers and streams around pheonix to go to. Matter of fact last week I saw 10 baby frogs on my driveway. ( i have no idea how they got there, probably from canal). And after all phoenix is a city, idk many cities that have ponds in the middle of them so you can catch frogs.

9) Lack of wild life? You serious? You have obviously never been outside of Pheonix, cuz there are plenty of animals in the desert and forests, that i see all the time, and is a very short drive away. After all how much wildlife do you expect to see i a city?

10)Phoenix is IN THE DESERT. And you can drive 3 hours from phoenix and be in beautiful forest, with the high of 80.

11) Car accidents? Maybe thats just your driving?

No, this is a 'honeypot' thread where all Phoenix-haters and Phoenix-Hater haters get together and have fun.

As I read these posts one after another, 1 thing became abundantly clear, I need another drink!

does it say on the forum rules that you must post positive things about Phoenix? I see no problem with people saying what they think, negative or positive, as long as theres no personal attacks on a individual poster. It would solve the problem for you not to read this old thread if it bothers you, why bother to read what the searching via the net necomers as you call them post?

I like reading the negs as well as the pos. I wish I had found this forum before I had moved to Austin. That was a horrible move, and one of the biggest financial mistakes of my lifel. There is one post on there that is over 700 posts long on hateing austin. I read all the negitive posts on Phoenix before moving here, and decided that they were worth living with. Biggest complaints...too hot in the summer and its got a lousy down town. OK big deal to both. I work inside 9 hours a day 5 days a week in the daytime, then I go home. To the lousy down town, I live in Gilbert because I don't care to hang out with skyscrapers.

I hate Phoenix because every time I come here, some idiot tries to bum money of me. Usually in parking lots and specifically for gas. I have been here 1 week and it's happened 3 times. LEAVE ME ALONE! The real homeless guys and gals who stand at the off/on ramps of I-17 or in the canal tunnels have never been a problem for me.

Sorry to hear that you are plagued by panhandler jerks when you come to Phx. I really have not experienced this and frequent all parts of the city. I do see the guys on the frwy ramps and sometimes give them money. Sitting out there in the hot sun looks like a hard job to me...I feel sorry for them, whatever reason they are doing it. If they needs drugs that bad, then I guess I'm giving them $$$ for that. Anyway, where are you being bugged by the panhandlers? Tempe? I think I have encountered a few idiot, healthy, jerks that are panhandling there. Other than that...where are they? I'm curious.

Personally, I have never been hit up by more threatening people than in SF especially the Oakland airport BART transfer station. They run every scam they can think of in there and are very aggressive. The aggressive pan handlers make me extremely angry and they always regret an encounter with me. But in Phx....I haven't seen much. Pls comment.

I think I got hit up at a gas pump maybe once or twice in the 35-odd years I have been here. My recollection is that it was at a freeway truck stop island.

Oh, well...

Whatcha gonna do? There doesn't seem to be an ordinance against that sort of thing... if there is, it probably isn't a very high priority with law enforcement.

I'm not sure I'd continue to encourage them by donating to their cause, whatever it may be, but... oh, well...

I have this problem all the time with gas stations near my office, which happens to be right off I-10. As others have said, this tends to happen a lot at stations near major freeways. It bothers me enough that I now buy gas at a small station that still offers full service. I pump my own, but since the station offers full service, there's always an attendant visible to scare away the panhandlers. The big stations near my office are unlikely to get my business again until they hire security guards to chase away anyone not there to make a purchase.
