I don't hate it. I love it.
But the Phoenix haters who have said they have a right to express their opinions are 100% correct. Have at it. I hope the contributors to this thread can stay focused on the negative aspects of the city and surrounding communities and not cloud the discussion with rosy, optimistic, happy thoughts. I have no intentions of interjecting any defensive comments. I hope the moderators will not delete this thread. There are so many negative comments throughout this forum that I seriously think it would be beneficial to have one thread for prospective residents to come to and find out all there is to dislike about this soulless, barren wasteland . |

What a great idea for a thread! I'll be checking here often to see the latest posts of the Phoenix-haters. Should be very entertaining!
And please allow me the privilege of starting off: It is soooo brown and dry here!! Not beautiful, lush green like where I came from. You'd think it was a desert or something!! |

Well I dont live in Phoenix, but I've been a few times,Phoenix sucks, not much too it,Phoenix is like a mid-size city,I see it more like Tucson or Albuquerque but spread out all over and a million more people,Phoneix dont even have a big amusement park and the malls are like that of smaller cities, nothing to see in Phoenix, but maybe sports and thats it,I just cant see why people wanna move there and go through 115 degree heat. The crime is bad and I know people like to say its no different from anywhere else but Im sure its not listed the in the top 3 of most dangerous metro areas because its so safe,I think that states that there is more crime per capita than in other metro areas. Some people may never see a crime in their lifetime in Phoenix but others who post they feel so safe at any time can be a victim of a crime.

Wow!! counsElor J, what an elloquent post. You are more than welcome to not ever come to Arizona . . . ever.
As for me, I just hate AZ. I hate all that sunshine. I hate not having to lock my doors for fear of not being victimized. I hate the low property taxes (compared to CA). I hate the massive movie theaters. I hate the spirit of individuality in AZ. I hate the $.50 per gallon lower gas prices. I hate the fact that AZ schools want to make sure students can speak English. I hate the most beautiful sunsets in the world. I hate the smell of the Valley afte a downpour. I hate the amazing thunderstorms and monsoons. I hate all the camping, fishing, and hiking. Gahhh, what a horrid place this Arizona. Sure it has real problems like everywhere else, but these are the things I really really hate about Arizona. |

I realized how much I hate this place last evening sitting on the patio in that miserable 78 degree breeze and thinking of how my family back in the U.P. was enjoying the late season snowfall and visit from Jack Frost.
Other things I hate: The new, smooth, quiet freeways with those modern merging lanes. What's with that? Why can't we have busted concrete, potholes and cloverleaves like other places? The jobs around here. I worked here 35 years and never once got to experience what it is like to lose a job and have no prospects of finding another one. ![]() |

Oh yeah, did I mention that it was hot? Well, it was! How do people possibly live in such a culture-less waistland? What else could there possibly be to do other than Broadway shows and shopping in overpriced boutiques? Does Phoenix even have a Chinatown or Little Italy? I doubt it!!!! Obviously, there are many reasons why nobody wants to live in Phoenix. </sarcasm> |

Yep. Now I hate Phoenix and all of AZ too. I really hate all these great places to eat, just confuses us. I hate all the little rabbits and silly Quail out on the walking trail in the mornings. They leave little droppings all over the sidewalk. At least you can spot the droppings the homless leave on the sidewalks. I even hate having my windows open all night in February and March when it should be snowing. Makes us want to go back across those pot hole riddled freeways, step over the homeless and be back in CA. |

I hate the fact that I have not yet experienced all those things you guys get to hate!
I can't wait till I relocate there in June so I can begin hating... but for now I will continue hating Southern California! ~TL |
