Robbed Please All Read
Saturday May 23, 2009 we were robbed, our front door was kicked in. Our 42" Dynex Plasma TV and cherry finish jewely box was stolen. This occurred in Ahwatukee in the early afternoon around 330 pm. We are offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people involved. We would also offer a reward for the return of said merchandise w/ no questions asked if the items are returned intact and undamaged. In the jewelry box is our children's baby teeth and priceless items from diceased family members. The jewelry is made up of 60% DQCZ which is made by QVC and is a very good high quality man made diamond. We are putting this out in case any dealers are getting people to come in w/ multiple wedding sets, bracelets, ear rings, and necklace charms. There is a Washington Hospital School of Nursing gold pin, multiple gold charms and necklaces, along w/ a lot of costume jewelry, pins, broaches, coins, watches and broken jewelry. Old picture IDs and name tags.
The TV is a black 42" Dynex plasma, has 2 HDMI inputs and is only 3 months old. They did not take the remote control, however they did take the HDMI cables.
Any help w/ information leading to the arrest and conviction or recovery of property will qualify for a reward. We would greatly appreciate any help in this matter as this is a very stressful time for our family.
To give a heads up, a few weeks prior to today, a young gentleman came to the door trying to collect donations for his "school trip". He kept asking for items to try to get me to leave the front door so he could come in and wait in the entry way. This made me suspicious, bottle of water was given, and asked him to leave and have a nice day.
Any information will be greatly appreciated. Information can be given to us or the Phoenix police. If you see suspicious persons in your neighborhood, do not hesitate to call the police dept.
Thank you again, God bless, and have a safe holiday!

UGH! What a way to celebrate a holiday! Hopefully some of your neighbors noticed strange people taking things from you house...like a 42 in TV. Here's hoping for a great outcome to your distressed weekend.

It is not just there, it is everywhere. We have a glass storm door that we have started locking with the hopes that it will stop the kicking method of entry. I don't answer the door unless I know the person out there. I know that is rude, but my safety is more important than company manners to people I don't even know. My friends can call and I will let them in. Chair behind the door will maybe help keep someone out when you are home.
The worst part of this is the feeling of safety they have taken from you. I am so sorry and hope they catch the bum. Would you believe I have stopped wearing my jewelry. I hope some day my children and grandchildren can feel safe enough to wear it. I keep it in a safety deposit box.

Safety deposit box is a good idea for irreplaceable items. You can't look at them whenever you want but at least no one else can, either.
We have an external security door that lets you see and talk with people without having to unlock it. It's too porous to work like a screen door; I wish it kept the bugs out better. Keeps the human trash out, at least.

Unfortunately, Bigbee, the "uncomfortable feeling" will linger for months, possibly years.
Many years ago my home was burglarized while I was at work and it took months before I could walk in and not feel uncomfortable until I checked out all the rooms for signs of another burglar.
Good Luck

Security doors are a good idea. They are styled in decorative black colored wrought iron and fit over your regular exterior doors. They lock with a dead bolt and cannot be kicked in or pulled open.
