Default Fairs, Festivals, Culture in AZ?

Does anyone know of some fun fairs or festivals coming up in the next week? I live in the Awhatukee area. Also nothing Mexican. ( I have nothing against it but I have been to enough of them already...) I am from the northeast and miss going to all the different festivals...

I appreciate all your help in advance! Thanks!

pick up thursdays copy of the AZ republic - they have their weekly entertainment guide in there

you can also check their webpage for a clunky, but searchable, calendar of events

it's also a good idea to check out the webpages of individual cities - they'll often list events that are being hosted that may be overlooked by other outlets

as for this week? - i haven't really looked as I already know what i'm doing and it's a pretty basic week of housesitting, catching a movie, yardwork, housework and resting

Thanks, I will try that. I looked at the azcentral website and there is just too much info on there. I will look at the azrepublic.

Sounds like you have a fun week ahead... enjoy!!!

shouldn't be bad

there is always a lot going on, just a matter of what suits you

here is another place that runs a search - a little easier to navigate than the azcentral calendar

Search Results - Discover Things To Do - GetOutAZ.com

this has a $40 charge, but sounds fun

FOL Wine and Beer Tasting Festival this Saturday | festival, tasting, wine - Entertainment - Ahwatukee Foothills News

i'm sure you'll find something somewhere that suits you

You'd have more luck asking this question from October until April. During those months, there are festivals of one sort or another every weekend. During the busiest weekends in February and March, there are often several festivals going on simultaneously, making it sometimes difficult to choose.

Now, with the onset of the summer heat, big outdoor events are fewer in number. For cultural diversions, the summer is a great time to visit some of the area's museums. Museum galleries are usually air conditioned at 72 degrees to preserve the items being exhibited, so you'll be comfortable during your visit. You might want to check out a program called "Culture Pass" available at public libraries, including the Ironwood Library near you. With a little advance planning, you can enjoy free admission to most major museums in the Phoenix Metro Area.
