relocating to Surprise AZ
I am relocating to surprise or waddell arizona early next year. I would certainly appreciate if anyone could point me in the direction of a good elementary school for my young children. I am also looking for family friendly neighborhoods that are safe as well. Any suggestions would be most helpful and appreciated. Thank you.

I have lived in surprise for almost 2 years now,i think most areas in surprise are safe. Im not sure about school as i dont have children.
Regarding waddell,it isnt must of a city. Alot of it will become surprise i think. Im not sure if they even have a school, its mostly farm land. Its possible there is a school in the cortessa, thats the only new neighborhood i know of in waddell.

i know that some of waddell definitely falls into the litchfield elementary school district (the part in the southern section) - although I don't know about about waddell to say how it's all allocated

I think most of Waddell has been annexed by Surprise.

yeah - that sounds about right
the boundary for the LESD is pretty much northern avenue into the white tanks south to the I-10 ......... then take northern east until you hit luke, run down the AFB to camelback, shoot that out to just pass dystart and down to mcdowell and back across west
i think it would only hit the old southern portions of the unincorporated area

Thank you all so much. Surprise seems to be the city for us. I don't really mind the traffic after living in the Los Angeles area for twelve years. I am eager and excited about my new venture. Thank you all again.

We love Surprise...we also moved from the L.A. area after living there 10 years. Traffic is not the bad in Surprise...especially for people coming from Los Angeles.

Thanks again, that is good to know. After surviving my daily commute in Los Angeles, I believe I can survive anything, even the summer heat of Arizona. I am looking forward to it.

I think you will like Surprise a lot - all my Cali-transplant friends that I've met who now live in Surprise really like it here...

My family loves it in Surprise. My parents have been there since 2003. We bought a home there and love it. I still work in California though so am not there all the time. I can still escape the heat when I want. Funny thing is that has not been a problem for me. I have 3 former co-workers that all live in Surprise. One of them that moved there had planned on moving to Avondale and when I informed her of Surprise her and her Husband decided that they liked it in Surprise better. All of us are California born and raised. I also know 4 other families all from the Ventura County area that are living in Surprise. Something about that city we all seem to like.
