Punkymom, have you ever driven through El Mirage? There is much more to the town than just your house and neighborhood. Your neighborhood may be nice and new, (HOA, sounds like you live on the south side of cactus.) Yeah, that neighborhood is really nice. BUT!!! Have you ever driven north on El Mirage rd, past the Walgreens and new houses? I am talking little mexico, (which is what we called it in high school, I graduated from Dysart High School,) right off of Grand Ave. The straight up Ghetto, dilapidated houses, junkies walking the streets, drive-by shootings, drugs being sold on every corner, grafitti on every wall. Have you driven down that road through town? Have you ever wondered why it is chewed up and full of pot holes? It is because the Local Gov cannot hire anyone stupid enough to repair the road, and risk getting shot, mugged, or equipment stolen.

I know that neighborhood all too well. I moved in with my dad for my senior year of high school only. 2003-2004, just as most of the neighborhoods went up.

I have seen numerous crimes committed. I am sure you have read my other post about the town. Everything I said it true.

The house was really nice to live in, despite all the neighborhood lights and cookie cutter designs.

I just got back from El Mirage. I am buying a home there.
It is my opinion that the negative stories on this sight are greatly exaggerated or historically irrelevant.
I will acknowledge the fact that the “Thunder bird & Grand” area is less than desirable.
None the less is an isolated area.
El Mirage has great potential and I think that it is worth
while to in vest in that potential.
I am coming from Chicago and am looking forward to the move

I have a wide spread 2 in elementary 1 in Middle school and 1 in High School. I will admit the minute I tell people I moved to El Mirage there facial expressions look like this
Are you still enjoying living there? Asking because we are thinking of buying a house in Cactus Park Estates.

You are not likely to get an answer to your question from that poster, who has not been back here in almost two years. Perhaps others can give you some input.

SpikeAZ's 1st and last post was in 2009. If you DM them, your question will be emailed to them. Assuming they still have their same email address, you might be able to reach them that way. If I was you, I'd put your email address inside of the direct message so they don't have to re-visit the site to DM you back.
