My bill for June is $ 245.00. Of that amount, $24.00 are taxes. Another $120.00 or so are usage fees for things that I have no idea what they are.

My house is 3300 sq ft and both a/c units are kept at 79' at all times. None of the windows get direct sun so this temp feels cool to me.

There is a salt water pool and the pump runs either 4 or 6 hours a day. The pool guy sets the schedule for the pump, so I am not sure about the hours.

I am on the plan where I have high rates for usage between noon and 7:00pm. My high rate usage was 25% of total usage. Most of that is probably the a/c during the day because I don't run any of the other large appliances except during off peak hours.

Not bad at all for such a large house.

Ours just came in at $276 for an 1884 sq ft house. We keep the AC at 76 at night and 78 during the day and are on the same plan you are on thought our peak was 27% of the total. We used a total of 2,485 kWh.

What really kills us is the orientation of the house. The front room, which we work out of all day, faces east, so it gets blasted by the sun all day. To keep that room at 78 degrees (remote thermostat), the other end of the house gets down to 74 degrees...the back bedroom even hits 72 degrees sometimes.
We would save hundreds if the house faced the other way as we are in the front room (east side) during the day and then the rest of the house (living room, bedroom) in the afternoon/evening which both face west.

ugh... $180 for the month of June. It was because my wife kept cooking on-peak and had way too many fans going. Now that both of those are fixed we are averaging 1 to 2 kwh minus when 7:15 hits, we jump to 6 because of the A/C

last month's SRP bill was $24!....admittedly, it's a 624 sq. ft. studio, the AC was off, and nobody was living there....it's a second home....just throwin' it in there!

I remember a very large house I went thru years ago just after it was built in the Town of PV....probably 7000 sq. ft.....the family room alone had nine AC registers.....much later, the next-door neighbor bought it for $1.8 million and tore it all down just so his lot would be bigger....true!.....

$217.93 for June with the same peak rate plan of noon-7 pm; peak was 22% of total. New home with energy features, 3100 square feet, single level. North-South facing with dual zone air conditioners. Just two of us, no pool, and both work at home.

My desk is in our bedroom which I keep about 76-78. Husband's office he keeps about 78-80. For sleeping we turn it down to 70-72. Home is well-lit so during the day we have no lights on, so only the AC, ceiling fans, three computers, and his TV. Laundry, dishwashing, most of the cooking, etc. done after 7 pm.

Ceiling fans are very inexpensive to run and actually help quite a bit to lower the temp in a room if they are kept on.

$125 for 2100 sq/ft, peak plan. A/C set to 81 at all times, usually run the ceiling fans in whatever rooms I am.

How do you guys live with the A/C so high? I keep mine at 76 and it's still hot.
