Default Red Light Know How?

This is open to anyone just to put my mind at ease. I got a ticket for running a red light. I decided I didn't have time for traffice school, didn't have any points on my license, so I paid the fine and took the points. Now I get a letter informing that that I have to go to traffic school AS WELL. Does this make sense. I thought if you took the hit and paid the fine then you didn't have to do traffic school. Any comments? Is there a glitch in the matrix?

How many point s was it? Sometimes a multi-point ticket will get you traffic school no matter what.

In this case a simple red light with no other tickets seems strange. I am new to Arizona, however, and do not know the answer. Sorry

Not knowing the State of infraction, it's hard to tell. However, it might have been wise to avoid the points and take the school. The fine is one thing, however if your insurance company gets wind of your situation, your rates might escalate for the next 18-36 months.

I assume that was considered a "moving violation", and those seemingly small infractions that seen meaningless today, can become a major matter of contention later. Good luck...

I don't know. I never got a ticket for running a red light. Could have almost a few times since the light was yellow as I drove through and changed to red in the middle of the intersection.

I think the penalties for driving offenses have gotten steeper. At the way things are going in Arizona, you will see mandatory jail time and misdemeanors for traffic offenses and felonies for repetitions of those offenses. Mark my words! This state is becoming Fascist in a hurry! It was almost libertarian back in the late 1990s when I moved here from California.
