I would like to live around Scwaw Peak mountain, or Bell road. Any low cost apartments? Say around $400 a month...

Well, Squaw Peak is not near Bell rd. So whereabouts near Bell do you want to be? The only way to get $400 for rent would be the area west of 32nd st, south of bell and north of greenway. It's not the safest area, but you might find the cheap rent, but I'm really not sure you will find it there anymore either. Rent is not cheap out here, at least not that cheap. You'd probably need to find a roommate. Rents typically start at $550-600 for cheapy places. A little bit nicer will be $700+, and luxury are $850+.

Canyon Creek Village has 1 bedrooms starting at $375, it's just north of Bell Road on Grovers Rd and 9th St.

I used to live there, it's not a bad place, lots of kids and illegals, but for $400 you can't get away from that.

3 kids in a 1 bedroom would be horrible, so I think you need to raise your amount.

You posted under the heading of "Cheap Rent" so it was assumed that you needed a very inexpensive place to rent and that is what KarmaPhx gave you. So if you have no amount set, then how about a dollar range you can afford and most importantly, where will you be working? Phoenix is huge so we could help you better if you could be a little more specific in what you are looking for.

I think there is confusion happening on this thread. There seem to be two posters. The original poster and then the mom of three looking for a house. I don't think the original post was hers?

Have you tried the apartment section of craigslist?

Also try Valley King Properties.

I doubt you will find anything by Sqaw peak for around 400.
