I thought Azrider's attempt at sarcasm was quite amusing myself. jbear182, I think your remark about "those poor kids growing up in such a dreadful, sinister place" was a little dramatic LOL. I appreciate the laugh though.

Thanks for the laugh lehi. I was trying to be dramatic just not as dramatic as it came across. When I reread my post you would think those kids were living in the depths of hell. Well at least the temperature would be cooler than Phoenix.

What are you talking about? Samething in AZ it's what you make of it. I can't blame you though I wouldn't want to live in that Apex or Raleigh area either. Looks depressing to me. I'd rather live in AZ for sure. You should have checked out that Lake Norman area in Charlotte before you went to the frying pan. A lot more life there.

The construction jobs in NC still dont pay enough, we did check out Charlotte. And what am I talking about, we dont like NC, thought we would, we were wrong, to us it turned out not to be the amazing place we were told it was. He got a good job paying a great salary and found a nice house in Gilbert, and if frying pan you mean heat, I would rather deal with that than a state that shuts down in winter. (construction wise and winter weather wise) lake Norman is a beautiful area and if a decent wage wasnt a part of it we would have been very happy there or Asheville.

Try not to take it to personally, oh, and your attempt at sarcasm was quite pathetic. Have a great day!
I believe I do get it. According to our beloved statistics more people are moving IN then out, and have been, almost more than any other state, including Florida, for years now. Come on, really, its not so horrible here that everyone and their brother hates it. I just havent seen the proof from the locals and friends, nor my own experience that it is SOOOO bad here. I do agree with you about the beauty of Arizona in general. That is one of the reasons I moved here.

Excuse me for my pathetic attempt at sarcasm. Im just sick of people being so dramatic about this subject. Yeah, you obviously HATE Phoenix with a passion, but your lives cant be that bad. Laugh alittle, Lehi has the idea. If its so bad, think of what you love about Arizona and Phoenix (there HAS to be something) and dwell on that until you move out instead of all this negativity. If your lives are that bad, sheesh, I dont know what to tell you, but you need help.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, absolutely. If you search my posts, you will see I left a negative opinion about Ohio in that forum. But I dont go constantly posting and posting about it, and telling everyone there is to tell about it until Im blue in the face.

Doing all this bitching makes it look like some maturity is missing here.

Just my 2 cents. Honestly, dont know why I care. Excuse the sarcasm again, but negative rep just breaks my heart.

Heres a good post from someone who dislikes Phoenix, just for emphasis:

I love the neighborhoods in the upscale parts. I love that I can get just about anywhere several different ways (i.e., highways) (traffic is a whole different story). I'm sure the list could go on.

Even though I don't like it here (I'm a native), I do usually dwell on the negative, when I really should focus on the things I do like until I decide to move.

Thanks for reminding me of some the of things that I do enjoy about AZ.

What I want to know is why can you say "bitching" but you can't say d a m n? Seriously though, it's easy to hate the Valley of the Sun at this time of year. You have the heat and the humidity to go along with it. Yuck! Well I know when I start feeling too negative about living here, I get on the road and head N/E out through Superior and Globe, through the Salt River Canyon and up to the Pinetop/Lakeside area. It's a beautiful drive and not to sound corny but it really renews my spirit. The diversity in the scenery is amazing.

Dont know. Seems bitching is the only one you can use. ******* **** **** hell ****..... and hell too...

Seriously though, this is exactly what Im talking about!! Pissed off? Go do something you like! Instead of constant complaints. The weather is hot and humid right now, and it does suck!! There I said it. I didnt mind the 110 and dry we had a few weeks ago too much. Its the humidity I cant stand. I was actually back in Ohio for a week last month and it was 70% humidity and 95 degrees. Yuck!! Im planning a trip to Flagstaff this weekend to try and beat the heat for a couple days, maybe not by much, but the mountains will make up for it.

My husband is going to make more in NC, me a dollar an hour less for now. Our house double sqft half the price. Property tax same, tags for cars same maybe a little cheaper. Personal income tax the only think I see higher than AZ. Yeah Lake Norman area is absolutely beautiful Apex, Raleigh (blaugh) I really don't know why people would move there in droves.

State taxes are higher here, we had to pay 500 dollars a year in personal tax on our cars, our real estate taxes were not bad, the electric and water here are expensive, probably the lack of it! My Dh is making $30,000 more a year now that he got a job there, for the same position go figure. The Raleigh area really isnt what they crack it up to be, especiallythe Cary area it's nice but come on!, I would rather live on a lake! Or in the mountains.
