Just curious, which 9 months do you consider "spectacular"? |

I consider September to be one of the three months of total hell (July, Aug, Sept) due to the high temps and humidity. It usually doesn't start cooling down (below the 90's) until the second or third week of October but I'll concede that it is a tolerable month because the "monsoon" is over. November through April, yes, I would agree that these months are pretty spectacular minus a few cold days (to us desert rats). The temps in May are already into the upper 90's and 100's but I would say this month is also tolerable because it's relatively dry. I would say we have six months of "spectacular", three months of "tolerable" and three months of "total hell". |

The fact that the Phoenix opportunity paid more and the cost of living here was much less sealed the deal. I had visited Phoenix only once, in January, and it had been one of those picture-perfect blue-sky 75-degree days. I had no idea what the summers were like, what the downtown was like, the crime statistics, or anything else. I just liked where it was on the map, basically, and the idea that I could make more money & live more lavishly here. It's a clear case of not doing enough research and going into a situation blindly. If I were given the same choice again, I think it's pretty clear I'd choose N.Y. |

Not an option at this point, I kind of missed my window there... but all's good, my ticket back to Colorado is punched. I just have to survive and tolerate it here for another year... I'm sure I'll manage. Hindsight's 20/20, eh? |

Phoenix isn't Hell, but you can see if from there.
One good thing for someone relocating from NYC to PHX, you'll be able to buy a hand gun, which you will likely need. But don't waste your money, you'll only need to by one bullet. |

DON'T DO IT! This place is awful. It sounds as if you've already got your little piece of Nirvana and Phoenix will not get you more than that....
