MainStay Suites Extended Stay hotels Phoenix Arizona

a little more expensive and a little farther away, but they have "full kitchens" and free cont. breakfast...maybe you could call these places I've mentioned and see if they can do a better rate for a whole two week stay....August is quiet here

"it's a dry heat" only applies in May and June and some of September.....we look forward to the rainy season in July and August, though humidity goes way up (20% humidity just kills us)....mosquitos aren't bad, even in August....maybe near the canals here.....

very popular t-shirt here, except sub Phx for Death Valley....

Strangely enough, I can't find that $290/week deal for Extended Stay anymore. Everything seems to have gone up by $10/night. So, MainStay is turning out cheaper at this point. Ugh.

how about the Studio 6 I linked?....it had something like $42 plus tax for a "larger suite"...and in a decent location....less $ for a small basic "suite".....

call these places and ask if they have a better rate for a two-week stay, rather than their daily rate....

also, wait a couple days and see if rates change

That Studio 6 has some pretty bad ratings. Beyond that, it may have to do. I'm gonna keep looking over the next week or so, make some calls, and see if I can't get something under $40/night.

don't know much about that place...looks like it may be converted apartments, but I may be wrong....could have been twenty different places before it became "Hospitality Suites"......might be a little beat-up and tired, but I may be wrong

that area is called South Scottsdale and isn't the best area, reputation-wise....kinda old and tired neighborhood....this place may have some noise nearby being on Scottsdale Rd....access to 202 isn't bad, little more than a mile S.....lots of nearby stores, etc....

don't know much about the specific place, though

The Hospitality Suites Resort has a ton of great reviews. I don't mind if the area is "old." Just don't want it to be "unsafe." Decent deal well under the published price through hotels.com too.

hard to judge safety....S Scotts has a rep for not being the best area...but crime can happen anywhere....

I'm going to be in the area later tomorrow and on Friday...will do a drive-by (!!) and see if it looks OK....it is a convenient location....

Thanks! I haven't seen anyone complain much about it yet. Hundreds of reviews to sift through. It IS very convenient. It's also the cheapest/closest thing so far.
