Hi everyone:

Re: area of N 7th Street; East Camelback Rd & East Indian School Road
for semi-retired couple.....(fairly close to Madison Park)

Hubby and I hoping to purchase a small condo as a second home.....(most advice I have read regarding home location is for families with younger children in school)

We found a condo that is quite new but have noticed most of this district is much older construction-wise.

The zip code is: 85014

We are interested in shopping and tourist-type things...

Do you think this would be a good location for us??

North or south of the canal? I'd guess that north would be better - a lot of that is the Canal North neighborhood with some cool homes. It's definitely a transitional and mixed area, though. You'll find a better overall housing stock as you move toward Bethany Home Rd and beyond, but I don't know your budget.

It'd put you close to Biltmore and some central Phoenix areas for shopping, but I think your needs might be better met elsewhere (especially when it comes to touristy stuff).

Oops, I do believe that the condo is South of the Canal --
and to be honest, our budget is fairly limited.
