I have found 2 in my bedroom and 2 in my garage.
The second one in my bedroom and the second one in my garage both met their fate in a glue trap.
But these things make me very uncomfortable living here. I fear being stung and having a bad reaction.

My great aunt has lived in the Phoenix area since her birth in 1926 and has yet to see a scorpion in her house(s). She has seen them outside on the other hand but not in recent years. I haven't seen one in the metro area either, although, they are out there and in greater numbers near newer developments and "fringe settlements."

The first summer here I would find a scorpion indoors about once a week then that would taper off in late fall. We find them in the garage and outside as well but rarely upstairs -- thank goodness! We don't see near as many now (now keeping the outdoors free of crickets as well hunting the scorpions outside with black lights). So far this summer, I have only found two indoors.
After five years, no one in my household has been stung, however, several neighbors have reported that they have been. It is one of my biggest fears, and so I am very careful about where I reach my hand or place my foot.

Don't fear being stung. I have been stung once in 30 years of living here and it was not that bad. It hurt a lot and it was uncomfortable but I was able to function and carry on with my normal activities.

That's the part that scares me, the hurting.

The snakes are a bigger problem in my eyes. I've seen several in strange places this year, including a D-Back, who was spotted by one of the security guys at work.

Y-ouch! Guess it was just a matter of time... After 5 years of practically being compulsive about checking around me for scorpions, I got careless when stepping out on to the front porch to see the lightning storm, and forgot to look down. A scorpion stung me on the inside of my heel, some swelling and a lot of stinging and tingling. So now the worst has happened.
