Can anyone tell me about Peoria - traffic, employment, roof rats, etc.

What type of work are you looking for? Depending on what type of work you want to do – yes there is employment but you need to find the job first and the location to live second. Traffic is very bad everywhere in the valley and you don’t want to add to it or spend hours each day driving to work. Gas isn’t getting any lower in price. Peoria is a nice city to live and there are different types of areas for everyone’s needs

We live in Peoria (north) and think the schools are ok. The high school (Sunrise Mountain) was rated highly when we were looking for a place to land. The elementary school in our development (Vistancia) has been receiving high marks from the parents so far. My husband drove to Tempe from Peoria for 2 years and finally threw in the towel. It is a hard drive on a daily basis and I would not recommend it unless you are very used to stop and go traffic.

Peoria is a large area, so it will be different in the various areas. Do you know what part of Peoria you are talking about moving to? Also, why Peoria? I also saw you are thinking about Tucson.

I don't like SW Peoria, like 99th ave and Peoria. Try and stay North. The schools are good. You should be able to find a job within a 30 minute commute. Traffic stinks everywhere is right. Roof rats are in certain spots that should be the least of your concern. I worry more about scorpions than roof rats. |
