Friendly neighbors in Surprise (short sale, house, closing)

We are closing on our home in two weeks. A short sale. It took a while! We started going to the house this week and cleaning up the front yard, taking care of the pool, etc. The pool was a mess but that’s another story.

We have met four of the neighbors so far. They have each come up to us on occasion to introduce themselves and offer assistance if we needed it and just to be friendly. The guy right across the street even brought over his yard vac for us to use. (Although our yard is the one he sees out his window ) We could not be happier! If this is what Surprise is really like I could not be happier with our decision to move here.

BTW, one neighbor couple is from Chicago, one couple from Texas and one couple from New York and Arizona. We are from Chicago.

That's great! Hearing this makes me more inclined to choose Arizona to move to after I graduate seeing as the families in Alpharetta, GA (north of Atlanta) are mostly snobbish.
