Juliefunke is on a distinguished road
Red face goodyear az or henderson nv

Could be relocating to one of these destinations soon. Could anyone compare them? Schools, crime, housing, weather, etc? Goodyear looks good online, but it is always hard to tell by that! How bad is the commute to Downtown Pheonix? Any info would be great!

My aunt and uncle had a house in Henderson LV and you could not give me one to go there. Too much gambling/crime next door. Not a city I would raise kids in. Goodyear is a great place to find a very affordable home right now. The city is going to be building some awesome malls and shops someday in the future. I like Goodyear.

LOL, Henderson absolutely blows away Goodyear so far it isn't funny. It is like comparing South Phoenix to Scottsdale. I have lived in both areas so here goes....

Schools... Hands down, Henderson has a lot nicer and better schools, especially in the Green Valley and Seven Hills neighborhoods.

crime... Henderson and Boulder City have a much lower crime rate than Las Vegas. Henderson is the "scottsdale" of the Las Vegas Metropolitan area so I have no doubt the crime rate is quite a bit lower than Goodyear.

Housing... Goodyear has Henderson beat on this one. Housing costs are quite a bit higher in Henderson, but you get what you pay for obviously. Goodyear is a ghetto that no one wants to live in, hence the really low housing costs. The commute to Phoenix will be hell because the I-10 backs up really bad now since they overdeveloped the west valley.

weather.... Henderson is has a higher elevation so it will be cooler than Goodyear. It has a nicer summer, but a colder winter. Check out these videos that was taken in Henderson this winter, absolutely beautiful. You will not ever find this in Avondale, that is a guarantee...

The commute to Downtown Phoenix is horrendous. 10 years ago it wasn't bad. Now it is nearly impossible. Gridlock all the way to cotton lane. Is is sad how much it has grown since 2000. I say Henderson, NV. We have too many people in Central Az as it is.

You are not describing the Goodyear that I know. I love it here and it is one of the safest places around the valley. My house is beautiful and certainly not in a ghetto. Put up the booze, Las Vegas drunk.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I find the Goodyear/Avondale area to be a dump. It is also far from being one of the safer areas in the Phoenix metropolitan. The safer areas are Paradise Valley and Gilbert. Goodyear only scores a 2.6 (higher is safer) on the crime charts where as Boulder City scores 4.5 and Henderson scores a 3.2 so I was correct on my earlier statements of Henderson having less crime than Goodyear.

Crime Report for Goodyear Arizona

P.S. I am at work so I am not drinking right now. Don't try to discredit me by posting nonsense, especially since you do not even have your own facts straight.

Goodyear a gheto and a dump? I live here and it's neither of those. You don't sound like you know the area very well.

Is it the nicest place in the metro area? No, but it's closer to being one of the best than one of the worst.

I was born and raised in Phoenix. I was also a delivery driving for many years so I was frequently in Goodyear.
