Does anyone know the name of those unusual purple trees in Phoenix? Even the bark is kind of purple? Been trying for years to learn what they are called! Thank you!

That's what I was thinking. But are you referring to purple blooms or a tree with purple-ish (or burgandy type) leaves? Blooming ones are Jacarandas.

You know those are my favorite but the blooms don't last long enough and then they create a mess.

Another one of my favorite trees the Purple leaf plum. In NC it doesn't even look like the Pheonix version. The colors here in NC are so deep and vivid plus they are bushier.

The jacaranda is beautiful but it's not the tree I'm thinking of. I will try to find a pic of the purple plum and see if that's it.
