Never tried the airport shortcut. I'd think it would be more backed up with all the taxis, shuttles, and passenger drop-offs, arrivals.

It is, now. I don't do it any more. Back when I used to do it all the time, the airport was not so congested. In fact, Terminal 4 wasn't even there for a big part of that time.
