The I-10 splits a walnut orchard near Eloy. If you're southeast-bound just before sunset, with the mountains bright orange looming above the deep-green trees, it's actually a beautiful scene.

There is an apple orchard at Slide Rock State Park in Oak Creek Canyon, just outside of Sedona. The Apple Festival in in September. I'll bet the kids would love Slide Rock too.

Those are pecans, I believe, not walnuts. And they don't advertise it as a place you can visit (or eat something right off the tree, which is at least half the fun of going to an orchard).

There are still are lots of mature citrus trees in people's yards - that area is my neighborhood. There are actually thousands of citrus trees all across the Valley around homes. The fragrant smell in the spring is one of my favorite things.
