My friend is interested in relocating to Phoenix. He is a registered sex offender and cannot find out what the criteria is for being a level 1, 2 or 3 there. Before anyone pre judges he is a good person and was in the wrong place at the wrong time with a bad judge and lawyer. He is not a pedophile nor did he have sex with someone underage. I have known him my whole life and hated to see him go through this. This happened about 10 years ago and nothing since, nor would there be. The sheriffs website is of no help and they will not give any info on the phone. It looks as if most sex offenders are a level 2, but what happens with that? If anyone has gone through this or knows anyone who has any information would be a great help. He already knows a level 2 will notify the neighbors but how?

You are going to have to notify the neighbors by letter, or by person.You should explain in detail why you are labeled as a sex offender, that way the neighbors will be at ease. My older brother went through all this. Knocked up his 17 yr old GF back in the 90's, he was 18. He did 7 years.

When he registers as a sex offender the jurisdiction he is in will mail out notifications to residents in his area. They will have a picture of him, his physical description, address, and what he was convicted for on the notice. My partner (boyfriend) is a cop and he said this site will give some information and point you in the right direction:

My friend never even went to prison thank god for that. I am sorry about your brother. How hard was it for him to find work and a place to live? I am concerned about the neighbors as well. Did they take it well? Or do they give him crap in his neighborhood? I was hoping my friend could be a level 1, but after looking at the pics on the website it seems just about everytone is a level 2 and I am concerned for him because not every state has neighborhood notification like this.
