I want to build a new pool in the Queen Creek and have a limited budget. I want to be around the $20,000 price range. Just a nice play pool, with a nice water feature etc. I've seen many fliers with pool packages under $20,000, but it makes me a little nervous to go with some of these companies. I question their quality, and warranties. I've heard Shasta is good, some people reccomend California Pools, but they are more expensive. Anyone had luck with their pool & a certain builder around the same price range?
Thanks! |

I had a Shasta and never had a problem. You can wheel and deal with them a little, get them to throw in a spa or waterfall. Don't let them sell you the cow though, you don't need all the bells and whistles. |

Go with Presidential Pools- they will treat you right. I just purchased a pool from them and I got a great deal and the service was excellent.

We went with Paddock about 1.5 years ago. Paid $18,400 for the standard play pool, plaster, cartridge filter equipment. We're happy with it. No problems whatsoever. Two neighbors both have Riviera pools, for just a little more, they got pebbletec (no my fav) and waterfall. If you're thinking about adding an above ground hot tub later on....pay to have the 220V electric ran with with pool installation....

I had a pool in my previous home but purchased a portable anytemp spa this time, made in phoenix. My small pool got to hot to be refreshing in the summer and our anytemp spa can be kept 85 degrees even after weeks of 115 degree heat. Electric costs seem to be less than 15. per month to keep the perfect temperature all year and the extra powerful therapy jets help my arthritis. Just something to consider before buying a pool and/or hot tub. Comfy all the time! Good luck with what ever you decide!

Just remember that you usually get what you pay for. I don't know if you have signed with anyone yet but be VERY careful! There are too many pool companies out there right now in this slow market & there will be some that won't be around in a few months. Make sure that you get at least 3 bids & check their record at the ROC!!!! Do you want to use a company with 10 complaints vs one with 0? Or a company that keeps losing their license qualifying party or gets their license suspended because they have problems securing insurance? Also think about how long you are going to be staying in your house & if you want a cookie cutter pool to just get your feet wet or for a couple of thousand dollars more do you want a pool that you can entertain in? Also don't use plaster. It's not the same product that it used to be, it's too hard to take care of & will stain. Spend the extra money & go with Pebble. Hope that helps you.
