Default nosebleeds

I moved to the Phoenix area two months ago. This past week, I got nosebleeds on 3 different days. They stopped pretty quickly.

Has anyone experienced this? I assume it's due to the dry air.

I believe you're correct, numeflua.

Give it a few months and I bet your system you acclimate to the dry air.

Yeah this is one of those "rare but common" things in Phoenix. Probably less than 10% of the population has this problem in Phoenix because of the dry air but that is about 90% more of a problem in Phoenix than other regions like the east, south, midwest, and pac NW...after my parent's moved here my younger brother had this problem. He had to get something cauterized up in his sinus cavity. However, he had suffered from broken noses and such so that exacerbated his problem. He used humidifiers afterwards for a few months and now he is perfectly fine and hasn't had this problem since 2002.

If you don't have a humidifier, try saline rinses daily (NeilMed or SinuCleanse) and a saline spray (Ocean Spray, or Simply Saline) throughout the day.

Yep.

One broken nose and a concussion from competition....

Came out here and get the nosebleed action a few times per year.

So far, so good on the allergy thing.....

It's good to breathe finally....

There is a lot of moisture in the air at this time of year, it may not be 'dry air' causing the problem. Could be an exposed vein inside the nose that needs cauterizing, a simple procedure.
