Default City of Casa Grande REJECTS Photo Radar/Red Light Cameras!

This is not a big issue for me either way, but I did find it interesting that the City of Casa Grande REJECTED installing photo radar cameras (both fixed and mobile) in the city, citing a 15.9% reduction in traffic collisions citywide through more concentrated enforcement by actual police officers, as well as some secondary issues related to cost to implement the program. The vote was 6-1 against approving the contract with ATS.

As I said, I do not speed or run red lights, so this did not effect me directly, but in general I am against automated law enforcement and cameras in general.

But I know many here are adamant one way or other on this issue, and as I understand the issue, it is very rare for a city to decide NOT to install cameras these days.

It sounds like they are more realistic here than in other places

Amazingly they didn't feel a need to make almighty REVENUE their main priority! What refreshing news!
