Can we walk to the store? Only half of the year, otherwise it's too hot.
I feel safe to walk, but not in all areas. Why are you going to be downtown alone? No one lives down there (not really true anymore), but not many live down there. Come and visit and see how it really is here. |

Surprised nobody mentioned Austin, Texas. Great city for a young person and totally different than the rest of Texas.

Here's a little tip.
As of now; there is NOTHING downtown. Nothing useful, that is. They're are jobs. and Condo's. Not many apartments, no grocery store. A few restaurants, and concert venues. Thats it. Not to mention, actually LIVING downtown can get expensive. The only shopping that was downtown was The Arizona Center, which has pretty much closed up shop. So if you're moving downtown to be close to stores, you'd be moving farther away from them. Oh, and, check out Albuquerque as an alternative. Wages are decent compared to the cost of living, and there are some really nice neighborhoods. The city is thriving. It's not the armpit of the southwest if you actually GET OFF the highway.. That's El Paso's job. ![]() |
