My trip to Phoenix is finally near. I will be flying in Oct 7 to meet up with my apartment finder service and tour properties and sign a lease before I leave. I will be working from home so i can live anwhere i want. I plan on viewing properties for a couple days and spend the rest of the week hiking and taking roadtrips! I will be actually moving (from chicago) the week between xmas and NYE.

sorry, i just wanted to express my happiness

Great time of year to make your move! You'll love it, especially if you don't need to find a job!

Welcome to AZ. You will have a little time to get used to the climate here before next summer. You will love our winters compared to your old home.

I'm excited for you as well. I just got back from my first visit to Chicago, and loved it, and will love going there to visit again... but the winters? No. Give me the summers here anytime.

I just realized everybody else said the same thing. Hehe.

Our first winter here, we moved from upstate NY and I say the temp got down to upper 50s low 60s. We were driving out of our neighborhood in t-shirt and jeans when we drove past by a lady taking her walk. Nothing peculiar about it but it sure was peculiar to us. Why? 'Cuz she was wearing earmuffs, a scarf, mittens, and a really thick jacket.

We're the ones that stuck out like a sore thumb though. When we got to our destination, I think we were the only ones in t-shirts!
