vistancia is on a distinguished road
Default Vistancia

Just thought I would comment on my trip to Arizona because this website has been so helpful to me.
I'm posting this in the Phoenix section because my husband will be commuting from Peoria to Phoenix.
My family is relocating to Arizona this month and we picked Vistancia to buy a home (located in the city of Peoria).
It is a beautiful area, master planned community, with several miles of hiking trails, new school, beautiful community center with great pools.
It was definitely the area that we liked the best.
The one disadvantage I can think of is the commute if you work in Phoenix. My husband will have a pretty long commute ~30 miles but it was worth it for us to be in a nice area.
Check it out at www.vistancia.com
Especially check out www.myvistancia.com and click on the amenities section and then click on moutain vista pools.
Hope this might be helpful to someone relocating to Arizona.

I can't agree with you more about the beauty of Vistancia. We checked it out this weekend and were amazed at how gorgeous it is. The pool was fabulous!! and the walking trails were great too. It's really quite a beautiful development.

I have to say, though, that it's very, very isolated. A commute into Phoenix would be terrible, based on what we were told and saw when we drove out there. There's NO shopping, and that's not an exaggeration. Arrowhead Mall is the closest mall, and that's 25 minutes away, according to the sale person at Vistancia. The SuperTarget is the closest grocery store and that's 5 miles away. Aside from that strip mall and the Super Walmart strip mall they're supposed to build across the street, I don't even know where you'd go for restaurants, movies, etc.

According to the sales person, they're going to build a hospital and "Kierland Commons type mall" nearby. She wouldn't give me a timeline until I pressed her repeatedly - yeah - the hospital is 8 to 10 yrs out, and the mall is "probably about 25 years out." 25 yrs?!? I don't even know how she could say that with a straight face.

Anyway, I'm not trying to rain on your parade so please don't take it that way. I think Vistancia would be a fabulous place to live if you don't have to commute downtown and you don't mind having to drive long distances for about everything. Many people don't mind that - I'm just more on the lazy side Vistancia really is gorgeous. It smells so nice - we noticed it the minute we got out of the car - smells like spring in the desert. And boy is that pool fabulous!!

Congrats on your home purchase!! I hope your move goes well and welcome to AZ!

Vistancia is stunning.

Its really about only 20minutes to the mall....the plan on having 8million square feet of businesses. so i think there should be plenty of retail locations.

Personaly for me, i enjoy the isolation and find it appealing. it feels like your just getting away from the city, but the commute to get back is not bad at all. definetly worth it for me.

I agree with you 100%. There isn't much shopping around vistania but this is exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a family oriented community with parks, pools and hiking. We like to cook at home so we don't need to be close to restaurants. The commute to Phoenix is about 30 miles which is far but actually not as far as both my husband and I are used to commuting. We both have crazy commutes right now so for us this is no big deal.

30 miles from Vistancia will probably work out to be over an hour to 90 minutes or so?

It may take an hour if you commute during rush hour.
My husband leaves for work usually before 5 am.

30 miles in which direction???

i worked in tempe and lived in surprise...was 44 miles one way and it took me about an hour and 20 minutes each day. sometime a little more.

if you aren't going through downtown 30 miles from vistancia shouldn't be more than an hour

How long would it take from vistanica to get to work at the petsmart corp office which is in zip coe 85027 N Phoenix, 19601 north 27th avenue. I realize I could type it in on mapquest but wanted someones opinion who actually knows about commute in am and pm. We live in Fla and may be coming out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We heard Arrowhead ranch zips were nice to live in as well, but my wife, son and I want a newer home 0-5 yrs old, 325-375K, min squ ft of livable space of 2200-2400s qu ft and not more than 15 miles or so to and from work, which I would assume is no more than 30 minutes commute. I checked out anthem on line but heard traffic is not good so was wondering about peoria ( vistancia) as well as other newer communites and how feasible and easy it is from petsmart corp office, as well as schools for my 7 yr old and feedback on the communities itself. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I have gotten some other great feedback on other topics from some nice folks on these sites.
Tks

I used to work at Petsmart Corp when they were still at the Metro Center Building.

Anyway the new Petsmart corp to Vistancia maybe 30 minutes or so.

When we visited Vistancia we went with our friends who live on 51st Ave and Cactus and that took about 30 minutes from there on a Sunday afternoon with no traffic.

The main thing is though that you like it and that's what counts. It's a beautiful development that's for sure. What builder did you pick? Hopefully TW Lewis.
