Looks like another miserable summer is behind us. July was a bear this year with all those 1-teens strung together and a missing monsoon. There is a chance we may not see 100 again until May. Whoopee! Congratulations are in order.

Hope so. Going to the ASU game on Saturday at 4PM. Hopefully the breeze stays for a while, too.

Ha! Bring your umbrella. There is a 30% chance of T-storms Saturday PM.

I just read it's the end of monsoon season, and I am wondering, what monsoon season?

I remember when I was younger, about 5-10 years ago, the skies used to turn brown, and it would rain for days on end, knock over power poles, flood streets, what happend to that?

It's always been hit and miss. Last year was one of the wettest (at the airport not my place ). This year one of the driest (10th I think). Like Cub fans we have to wait 'till next year!

Many say it's the heat island effect, and I think there is something to that. The storms can't move into the Valley until they have already played themselves out somewhere else, so we get wind and dust and not much else, a good part of the time. We get more storms early in the morning over the last several years, relatively speaking, than we used to, which is also consistent with cooler temperatures allowing later forming storms to move in.

I remember those huge frequent storms, with rain, that came all the time in the 60's, 70's and even 80's. There's been less and less of them in the last 15-20 years.

It may be the "urban heat island" or the fact that we've been in a drought situation for most of the decade...but I too was COLD taking my dogs on a walk this morning in Sub-72 degree weather!!! OMG, I had to bundle up in a sweatshirt, LOL!

I too will be at the ASU game Saturday...I hope it doesn't rain. The forecast calls for a low of 65 and high of 88 Saturday with mostly sunny skies!!! It will be a great day for an ASU victory.

It felt like one of the coolest summers I've ever experienced, and my car's A/C was broken half the time.
