None. Any issues that have been made public are isolated like any municipality would have. Because of the private issue, any mishap tends to be publicized more, but it's really no different than a city utility. I've NEVER had an issue in the years since I've lived here. I've never had the power even go out during monsoon thunderstorms! We are on SRP, the largest electrical supplier. The only thing is the price for water and sewer is over $70/month, but the high price had been set years ago and has increased at a much slower pace than other municipalities have over the years. When the development began 10 years ago they had to fund the utility because the people here are fortunate they don't pay as high of a property tax as city people.
There has been a campaign to incorporate a couple times the past few years, but it will take a few more years of growth to substantiate the idea. A ton of retail will then begin to take shape shortly as many projects have recently been approved. Pinal County would have more info on his.
Johnson Ranch is an unincorporated development southeast of the city of Queen Creek by about 10 miles. Their utilities are different than the city's. The city of Queen Creek has started to gobble up other private water companies like Queen Creek water. Queen Creek water is an excellent utility. I also have rental property on 2 and 1/2 acres in the city, and with watering all my citrus trees in the summer, the highest water bill was $28 a month. Once the city takes control I know my price will go up. I hope this clarified some concerns, because you only need to worry about other issues.
