I am going to have some guest in town and wanted to take them to a local favorite (type of cuisine doesn't matter) that can't be found anywhere else i.e. non-chain restaurant.

I was thinking along the lines of Pizzeria Bianco, Los Dos Molinos or T-Bone steakhouse. Can anyone make other recommendations? Thanks in advance

I like bringing out-of-town guests to Cibo too.

Another favorite spot we bring guests is Quiessence at the Farm at South Mountain. It's like a little oasis, lush and quiet, tucked away on a 12-acre farm, but minutes from downtown Phoenix. You drive up through a gravel lane lined with pecan trees and walk up a flagstone path to the farmhouse. Be sure to reserve a table on the patio. Menu changes daily because it takes advantage of what is grown that day on the farm and focuses on local. Definitely a restaurant you can only find in the Valley. For example, the cheese plate has many selections from Arizona like Black Mesa Ranch in Snowflake, or Fossil Creek in Strawberry. The chef also sources out local and small independent producers all across the country. They're open for lunch too, which is less expensive than dinner.

Some of my favorites to order are the Chef's Spread (house-made charcuterie and cheese), seafood platter, or any of the pastas.

There are thousands of restaurants that can be found nowhere else, what type of food are you looking for?

Never met a tourist yet that did not love the Rustlers Rooste. It is a Phoenix landmark. Not the best food in the city, but it says "Arizona" in the way only a tourist can love. I'm serious, you'll have a memorable time.

we are flexible as type of cuisine, but if you wanted to ask my favorites it would be: Thai, Chinese, Indian, Steakhouse, Pasta, Pizza, Burgers and bar food. not into fine dining so much.
