Does anyone know how much of a difference pools make for the cost of homeowners insurance? And how much will it go up for things like a diving board and a deep end? Is insurance much cheaper if you just have a play pool?

Ohhhh, glad to hear the in floor cleaning systems are good. We are getting one of those from Dolphin. Pacific tried to talk us out of that with that cleaning system on a long hose thing. Didn't want that..................

Maybe they have improved. I had a Paddock with the inground things that popped up and rotated. There was ALWAYS one that got stuck and left a dirty part. They are guaranteed forever but you still have to go down to the store to exchange them. It got kind of like buying milk and eggs. I like my Hayward Navigator in my pool now a lot better. Never needs anything done to it and the pool looks great and it picks up leaves and junk too and not just blows them into a corner. Downside though is the hose is in the way.

I have a Paddock pool (older) with the pop-ups. It seems like one is always sticking or having trouble. We have replaced almost every pop-up. They did get better when we got a new, more powerful pool motor but we still have trouble and still manually vacuum the pool frequently.

Since we are not the original owners of the pool, the lifetime guarantee does not apply.

I don't recall our insurance agent asking us anything specific about our pool, except if it had a fence around it. I would call your agent and ask.
