Default Couple questions

First off, I'm not seriously looking into moving quite yet, but I would like some information. I'm about a year or so off of graduating from college and am just trying to gather information from different cities that I'd like to live in provided with the right opportunity. I have a few questions about the Phoenix area. I've been to Arizona before, Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff, so I am a little bit familiar with the area, but not much.

Apartments. What kind of studio or one bedroom apartments can I find in the downtown Phoenix area? I'm looking for something that is nice, but not extremely expensive or anything like that. I'd like to be near the downtown area, assuming that's where most jobs are located.

Jobs. I'm in the field or Marketing right now and was wondering what kind of opportunites there are for that type of job in the Phoenix area.

Insects. You probably get this question a lot, but what kind of bugs are there in the Phoenix area? When I visited, I really didn't notice many, but I was only there for a short time, so I can't really determine what they're like. The thing I'm most concerned about is spiders. I absolutely dread them. They're annoying, creepy and sometimes scare the crap out of me. I live in Wisconsin and the only spiders we get here are really, really small house spiders. I still hate those too. Anything that's outside and not in my house or car, I really don't care about. If I see a spider in the street or bushes or whatever, I don't care. But once I see one in my house, I get freaked out.

Anything else you care to throw in about the Phoenix area is welcome too.

Thanks!

There are some very nice apartments in the downtown-midtown phoenix area. I have never rented a studio but a nice one bedroom will run you anywhere from $600 -$800 per month. I recomend looking into renting a condo , you can often find very good deals. There are some cool apartments being built downtown right now that look like they will be very nice and they will be on the new light rail line. A good source to see prices is apartmentguide.com. You can select your area and it will show a lot of places including price and tons of other info.

I honestly don't know anything about the job market for your profession, sorry.

As for bugs, well I have lived in Phoenix for over 13 years and I have never had bug problems living downtown. I lived out in the suburbs years ago and had some minor problems with crickets but thats it. Others have had worse problems I'm sure but I never have.

Why not check craigslist.com to get an idea of the price ranges for apts downtown? - (And like the above poster has mentioned as well @apt guide)

Same thing about your profession - craigslist.com - also, you can check out our newspaper classifieds online.

Bugs in Arizona? There are several and various threads on this subject.
