I was just wondering about roller hockey rinks that are outdoors and are free to the public. Also wondering if their were any useful libraries in peoria.
Please help if you can. ![]() |

I have lived in phx my whole life and I have never heard of us having outdoor roller hockey rinks. Maybe someone knows if we actually have that here. Peoria has a main library that looks real nice. It's in their "downtown" type area at around 85th ave and Peoria. It's where all their courts and everything is. It looked pretty functional to me. I was only there to pick up tax forms.

Peoria is really nice. I just moved here and haven't seen any roller hockey areas on the maps of the parks. I live a really nice part of the city and I absolutely love it (granted, i've only been here for about 10 days), but it's a really nice place.

Peoria has 2 libraries: the one "downtown" as someone previously mentioned, as well as one shared with a high school up on 83rd near Deer Valley.
They both seem to have very good resources, including free Internet access. We come from an area where the library system was county-wide, which had advantages of being able to drop off books at any branch, needing only one library card for the entire county, etc. Here, the library systems are by city, e.g., Peoria is separate from city of Phoenix, etc. You need to obtain cards from each if you want to go to different libraries. I primarily go with my kids so my experience is limited...both branches have a great selection of movies on DVD...very current releases. You can renew by phone or Internet and you can drop off returns at either branch. We've only been in AZ (and do live in Peoria) for a couple of months and we're very pleased with what Peoria itself offers. They have a great summer rec program for kids...and the cost is unbelievably inexpensive. |

That's right there is one up off of 83rd ave. I went there a couple of times when I lived near there. I think it's VERY strange to have one right in the middle of a high school. That means anybody can just walk on campus anytime and wonder around. I was uncomfortable with that. Plus I hate being around schools (hated school as a kid) so those feelings come up. It's a very small library compared to some of the other ones.
